Data sources & licences

Where the facts on Propkaki come from. Each figure on the site also carries its own source and date where it is shown.

Sources

  • OneMap · Singapore Land Authority: The base map, addresses, land lots, walking routes, school query. Licence: OneMap terms of use; SLA data under the Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • data.gov.sg: Hawker centres (NEA), parks (NParks), polyclinics (HPB), CHAS clinics (MOH), HDB property data, Master Plan layers. Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA): Private property transactions and rentals, Master Plan 2025, planning decisions, developer sales. Licence: URA Data Service terms; Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Housing & Development Board (HDB): HDB blocks and resale prices. Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Land Transport Authority (LTA): MRT / LRT stations and exits, planned lines. Licence: LTA DataMall terms; Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Ministry of Education (MOE): Schools and Primary 1 information. Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Sport Singapore: Public sports venues. Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • Ministry of Health (MOH): Active Ageing Centres (partial list). Licence: Singapore Open Data Licence.
  • OpenStreetMap: Supermarkets, bus stops, petrol stations, bus interchanges, condo block outlines and numbers, school grounds for shared campuses, park connector checks. Licence: Open Database Licence (ODbL) - see the section below.

Distances are worked out by Propkaki from these sources (straight line unless a walking route is named). Prices and rents are the authorities' published records, summarised by Propkaki.

OpenStreetMap

Some places on Propkaki come from © OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Where a map on Propkaki shows OpenStreetMap data, the credit appears in the map's corner.

The OpenStreetMap data in use was taken on 6 October 2026 (map data build of 13 October 2026). Lists marked weekly are refreshed every Saturday night.

What we take, and how

  • Supermarkets (named grocery chains) - shop=supermarket. Overpass API weekly; Geofabrik extract for each Near build. Shown: Near supermarket filter and pins; Nearby on listing, condo and HDB-town pages.
  • Bus stops - highway=bus_stop. Overpass API weekly. Shown: Nearby on listing, condo and HDB-town pages.
  • Petrol stations - amenity=fuel. Overpass API for each Near build. Shown: Near petrol station filter and pins.
  • Bus interchanges - amenity=bus_station (names saying Interchange / Terminal / Bus Hub). Overpass API for each Near build. Shown: Near bus interchange filter and pins.
  • Park connector checks - ways named Park Connector / PCN / Rail Corridor / Round Island Route. Overpass API weekly - one of two witnesses (with NParks) that a URA Master Plan stretch exists on the ground. Shown: Park connectors layer, Active living filter and card lines.
  • Condo block outlines and block numbers - building=* with addr:housenumber / addr:street inside condo plots. Geofabrik extract for each Near build. Shown: Block-by-block answers in Near for condos crossing a 1 km / 2 km line.
  • Street names for land lots - addr:street on buildings; named roads. Geofabrik extract for each Near build. Shown: Matching landed houses to their street (no OSM data shown).
  • School grounds for shared campuses - amenity=school outlines. OpenStreetMap API, once per school, for each Near build. Shown: The distance range behind "check OneMap" school answers.
  • Clinic cross-check - amenity=clinic|doctors, healthcare=clinic|doctor. Overpass API weekly. Shown: Nothing - an internal quality report only.

We keep OpenStreetMap data separate from our other sources: each kind of place on Propkaki comes either wholly from OpenStreetMap or wholly from another source.
